The king of the blues BB King, died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Las Vegas yesterday. He was one of the world's greatest guitarists inspiring countless musicians since he first rose to fame in the early 1950s. He was also a tireless performer, and was still playing ane average of 200 concerts a year well into his 70s. There are so many legendary performance through the years, but we've singled out one in particular that sums up his ability to inhabit a song, to channel the blues.
This show took place in Kinshasa, Zaire, 1974, as part of a three-day celebration of black sports and music that also featured the "Rumble in the Jungle" heavyweight championship fight between George Foreman and Muhammad Ali. It was one of King's finest moments.
BB KIng, musical genius. Rest in peace
