Enda Walsh's Disco Pigs, that Wuthering Heights on Acid which tells the tale of Pig and Runt in the south-eastern Irish port town of Pork, is poised to achieve world domination. Actress Eileen Walsh's elfin face peeped out of the Guardian on Saturday under the heading, "One To Watch"; co-star Cillian Murphy featured in yesterday's Guardian under "Ones To Watch".
The company finishes a seven-week run at the Arts on July 25th, but is hopping over to Bonn this Sunday to play at an international festival. It is due to play in Copenhagen, in Berlin, and then to do a nine-week tour of Australia and New Zealand. Meanwhile, auditions are being held in Cork for a second cast to do a six-month tour of the play in the UK. A third draft of a film script of the play is being prepared by Enda Walsh for Temple Films, where Ed Guiney is the producer.
