Why have we waited so long for Ireland’s first Psyche/Drone Festival? Not to worry – here it is, a beautiful-noise mixture of hazy aural surrealism, psychedelic rhythms and images. Bands taking part include Ireland’s Twinkranes, Cian Nugent & the Cosmos, Elastic Sleep, Exploding Eyes, and Otherkin; UK acts The Watchmakers, Dead Rabbits; and Germany’s TAU. Our advice? Every Saturday night, Kelly-Anne Byrne's Today FM show The Beat Goes On is appointment radio. It's a superbly tended selection of disco, funk and house put together by a true believer who knows how to join the dots between the tunes with class and elan. Expect similar delights as she hits Cork.

These days, Johannes Debese is best known as the minimal electronica guy, though the Frankfurt DJ and producer could just as easily have turned his hand to other sounds along the way, including hip-hop and deep house. Instead, Debese has been one of the main movers when it comes to a new German house sound, with releases for labels like Oslo, Cecile and 8bit, a residency at the Mannheim Zoo Club and club dates with Richie Hawtin, Tiefschwarz and others.
