Theatrical songstress Julie Feeney first began performing in her living room, staging magic shows for her family using cardboard props. She didn't know then that these childhood games foretold her future, though she was canny enough to charge an entry fee. In The Girl Who Believed in Magic, Feeney has employed some professional assistance: director Mikel Murfi, designer Paul Keogan, and costumier Umit Kutluk. The score is culled from Feeney's back catalogue, weaving a narrative from song that is as much about a search for magic as it is for love.
