More members of Arcade Fire? A fortnight ago, it was the pairing of Colin Stetson and Sarah Neufeld, while this week it's none other than multi-instrumentalist Will Butler (brother of frontman, Win). Plugging his debut solo album, Policy, expect something of a ramshackle but self-assured traipse down Butler's memory lane.

Coinciding with the run up to the referendum on Marriage Equality, Jimmy Murphy’s new play, staged by New Directions, makes a drama about a couple struggling to accommodate desire. Luke Griffin plays Eddie, a man with ambitions to open a restaurant with his wife, that have now stalled. Just as they find a place for a steak joint, a kiss changes everything. Joe Devlin directs a play about love in contemporary Ireland.

Brianna Price's journey to BBC Radio One began back in her native Canada where a teenage obsession with jungle and garage led her to first Vancouver and then London as a DJ and producer. In 2012, Price released her debut single Fever and popped up on BBC Radio One for the first time. These days, she's in situ on Friday nights on the station. Support from the Bodytonic crew.

CLUB

Josh Butler
Crystal, Waterford 11pm €12/€10/€8

A sure sign of progress is that the Leeds DJ is one of those names who has started to turn up on bills left, right and centre. Butler is someone who has demonstrated he can turn on the glitz needed to keep a big room crowd hopping, while tracks for MTA such as Got A Feeling and remixes for Ben Pearce and others brought him nods of approval from the likes of Pete Tong, Steve Lawler and Heidi. When it comes to high-calibre, deluxe house, Butler is your man.

MASTERCLASS

Killarney, Co Kerry, €60 10am-4pm

Clarie Keegan leads a masterclass on all aspects of the writing process. Topics include narrative structure, beginnings and endings, dialogue and tension. Which describes most of The Ticket's dates of late.
