Reunions don't come much sweeter than this. After a hiatus of more than two decades, fiddlers Seamus McGuire and Manus McGuire have reconnected with inimitable Sliabh Luachra box player Jackie Daly and all-round renaissance man Garry Ó Briain for new album (The Return of Spring) and a new turn around the dance floor. All four have ears cocked for the finer things in a tune, whether from Sligo, Sliabh Luachra or Donegal. Tonight they are guests of Kilfenora Tradfest.

Cyril Hahn
District 8, Dublin 11pm €20/€15 twitter.com/cyrilhahnmusic
The Swiss native (right) who swapped a career as an archivist for life behind the decks has been enjoying a whirlwind time of late. Hahn was last in these parts in June at Forbidden Fruit and Sea Sessions. His deep, dashing blend of punchy r’n’b and dizzy house has ensured some stunning and memorable reworkings and remixes. Three siblings, all busily pursuing their own career paths, finally manage to corral themselves into a studio for a brace of tunes and songs. That's how Sibling Revelry came about, and this is the trio's first opportunity since thento air their music as an ensemble. Harp, fiddle and voice promise to coalesce with an intimacy that only siblings can muster. An unquestionable highlight of this year's Harp and Heritage Weekend.
AFRO-CUBAN
Havana Che
Sugar Club, Dublin 8pm €10 thesugarclub.com
Afro-Cuban music doesn’t get much hotter or more authentic than this – not east of Havana anyway. Latin percussion guru Conor Guilfoyle has mined the Cuban music tradition for decades, and his bands just keep getting better. It’s a (healthy) sign of the times that, these days, the leader is just about the only local boy in the band, with a line-up that includes Cubans, Venezuelans and South Africans. Bring your dancing shoes: resistance is futile.

Others on Abstract duty include Tiago Black, Dan Stritch, Boots & Kats, Richard Feile and Caio Stanccione.
TECHNO
A Guy Called Gerald
Button Factory, Dublin 11pm €15/€12 aguycalledgerald.com
Gerald Simpson has been a seminal figure in dance music since his 1988 acid classic Voodoo Ray. However, the Manchester native and 808 State co-founder hasn't relied on the rave nostalgia circuit like so many of his peers from back in the day. If you're after forward-thinking electronic music, check out his Black Secret Technology, Proto Acid and Tronic Jazz, in which blazing sounds are to the fore. Support from Jake Thompson and Oli Drakeford.
