World Tapir Day, Belfast Zoo, Sunday

Tapirs are large mammals that look a bit like pigs. World Tapir Day aims to raise awareness of the four species of tapir that inhabit Central and Southern America and South-East Asia. They’re all in decline, facing threats from hunting and habitat destruction. Belfast Zoo will be holding tapir celebrations on Sunday and visitors can go along to see the animals at feeding time.
