Czech-born Gerda Frömel, who moved to Ireland in her 20s and established herself as perhaps the best figurative modernist sculptor in the country, died tragically early in 1975. With more than 100 exhibits, this show, curated by Sean Kissane, offers a welcome chance to reassess a relatively neglected figure in 20th century Irish art.

Pianist, organist and composer Alexander Hawkins is self-taught, and his approach to the keyboard is as liberated and unpredictable as that suggests. The young Englishman has just released a new trio recording, but he has built an international reputation as a solo pianist and the Hugh Lane gallery’s weekly gift to the city’s music lovers is sure to ignite his improvisational spirit.
