Co Down – Paddle Power

Visitors to Strangford Lough have a chance to learn kayaking skills and explore the water with expert tuition on hand. The event takes place on Wednesday evening from 7pm until 9pm and is weather dependent. Participants should meet at the Clearsky Adventure Centre at Castle Ward. Tours of Desmond Castle are run every day throughout the summer beginning at 9.30am, with the last tour at 4.30pm, form the Adare Heritage Centre. Dublin – kids’ festival

Play is a summer music festival running until August 21st at the Ark in Temple Bar, and features a series of live performances and hands-on workshops for younger audiences. Mayo – summer school

The Scoil Acla traditional summer school on Achill Island is officially opened today by Taoiseach Enda Kenny and runs until Sunday. Cork – aerial classes

A six-week course in aerial classes begins tomorrow at the North Point Business Park and will take participants through exercises to build up physique as well as learn trapeze and hoop acts.
