The title of this Scottish band's 2014 album – Nobody Wants to Be Here and Nobody Wants to Leave – was half right, but fans know what's what, and so if you have a liking for a band whose music has been described as melancholic folk with lots of noise thrown on top of it, then you know what to do, right?

It is now 50 years since John B Keane first delivered The Field to an unsuspecting – but entirely suspect – Ireland. Back then it was artfully positioned between an elemental folk tale and a grubby bit of reportage, laying bare real-life events while transforming participants into haunted and twisted figures. We've had countless Bull McCabes since, from Ray McAnally's original, through Pat Laffan and even, just for the craic, Brian Dennehy. In this big-business anniversary production, the Bull is played by long, lean and poetic Michael Harding, who more closely resembles something you'd find in a china shop. Will that make for a more nuanced, or complete, Bull?
