New York City’s Interpol take the Joy Division blueprint and invest it with a pop-oriented sensibility (in 2010, Peter Hook applied for the band’s then vacant post of bass player!). The result is post-punk with considerable appeal, as these sold-out shows prove.

Sculptor Janet Mullarney is a wonderfully adept carver with a rare imaginative reach. In My Mind's I, which kicks off a touring programme at the Highlanes, Mullarney locates a number of small, vulnerable figures in comparatively large, theatricalised settings, underlining the isolation and inner lives of her subjects.
