ONE of the country's biggest and most popular antiques and collectables fairs takes place tomorrow at the Limerick Inn Hotel, writes Robert O'Byrne. This twice yearly event, held each April and October and organised by Robin O'Donnell of Hibernian Antique. Fairs, has grown steadily since its inception in 1992.

As usual, tomorrow's fair - the eighth such gathering - will be open to the public from 11 a.m.- 7 p.m.

According to Robin O'Donnell for the first time it has been necessary to turn away a number of bookings due to demand for space at the fair. Even so there will be approximately 70 dealers from across the country present and over 50 stands. "We have continued to discourage reproduction items," says Mr O'Donnell, "and we are pleased to say we have been proven right. People want quality."

The wide range of items on sale at the Limerick Inn covers the full range of collectables in today's market, including furniture, porcelain and china, rare books clocks paintings and prints, coins and stamps, silver, linen and lace bric-a-brac and even phonecards.
