Wonca is the acronym for World Organisations of National Colleges, Academies and Academic Associations of General Practitioners/Family Physicians. Or more simply put - The World Organisation for Family Doctors.
Doctors are travelling from 77 countries worldwide, including a contingent of 500 Portuguese doctors.
Some 3,800 doctors are registered to attend, compared to the previous Wonca high of 2,200.
Some 64 buses will be needed to transport delegates to the conference each day.
