Do you think you have a healthy lifestyle?
It goes through phases of being healthy. It's very hard to be healthy when you're touring. Jet lag messes up any plans you have to eat healthily. I'd be very aware of being healthy, but I have my blowouts where you do all the things you're not supposed to do – drinking, smoking and eating all the wrong things.
How often do you exercise?
I generally exercise every other day. I do sit-ups and push-ups and a lot of core exercises. It's just to keep strong, to keep your back in shape, to keep your chi in place and your life force ticking over properly. I probably don't do enough cardiovascular but I've got a dodgy knee, that's my excuse.
Do you get your five a day?
Every other day. Salads and seafood would be my favourite things to dine on. I don't eat that much red meat, I don't eat that much bread and I try to eat as much greenery as possible. I eat a lot of bananas and apples and all that stuff.
Do you worry?
I think worrying is a waste of time. You try to live in the now. I think the human mind is programmed to think about the future, but I wouldn't say I'm a worrier at all. I think everyone worries a bit, that's the human condition.
What do you do to relax?
I'm fond of archery at the moment. It's good for balance and concentration and it's one of those things that just gets you in a different zone. When you're a musician and you're writing songs and performing, it tends to consume every waking moment, so any escapism is great. I'm also a big fan of the movies.
What's your unhealthiest habit?
Smoking and drinking. But I rarely do it. If I drink, I will smoke. I won't chain smoke but I will have a couple of cigarettes. But I've definitely knocked the drinking on the head a good bit. It's only on full moons, or about once a month maybe.
