Sir, - It was amazing to read of Denis Halliday's concern (Opinion, August 11th) that "Baghdad is surrounded by enemies such as. . .Israel". How peculiar that he has already "forgotten" that it was Saddam Hussein who fired over 40 lethal Scud missiles at Israel after his invasion of Kuwait and not the other way around. - Yours, etc.,
