A woman in her 60s has died after getting into difficulties while swimming off the Co Wexford coast.
The woman got into difficulty while swimming shortly after 8pm on Tuesday at Ballymoney strand.
Despite being taken from the water within minutes she was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.
A Garda statement said her body was taken to University Hospital Waterford for a postmortem examination.

A file will be prepared for the coroner.
