Irish Rail have warned commuters to expect “significant” disruptions to services on Monday evening following an incident on the line on the line between Kildare and Newbridge.
The Garda are treating the incident as a “personal tragedy”, it is understood. Emergency services attended at the scene of the incident on Monday evening.
In a post on X, Irish Rail said on Monday evening that the train line between Sallins and Kildare was expected to reopen “shortly”, with services to begin departing from Heuston station soon.
“Ongoing signficiant disruption to travel is expected this evening,” the post read.
