A 31-year-old man was found dead near a fast-food restaurant in Kyrl’s Quay in Cork city this afternoon.
The body of the man was found beside a Supermac’s restaurant. It is understood he was from Togher in the south side of Cork city.
A postmortem examination will be carried out to confirm the exact cause of death. However, the death is not being treated as suspicious. His body was taken to the morgue at Cork University Hospital (CUH).
Separately, a 28-year-old man was found dead in a public toilet at Fitzgerald’s Park in Cork this morning. The emergency services attended at the park after the man was found unresponsive in a portaloo. He was formally pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed from the park.
A postmortem examination, which is due to be carried out at CUH, will establish the case of death. The incident is not being treated as suspicious at this stage. It is understood the man was known to groups who assist the homeless in Cork city.
