The New Ross Piano Festival kicks off on Friday, and runs until Sunday October 1st, with concerts in St Mary's Church, New Ross, Co Wexford. This year Mozart will feature in most concerts, but the programme ranges from Scarlatti to Vine. The Galway International Oyster Festival opens on Thursday and goes on for four days. The Guinness Irish Opening Competition will test the skill of the most seasoned shell cracker.
