TODAY The second Mór festival gives a platform to the most innovative music from home and abroad. It's being held in Charleville Castle in Tullamore, Co Offaly, one of the most haunted buildings in the country, but if that doesn't scare you grab the tent and catch the likes of Damo Suzuki, Digitonal and Umbrella Spokes in the splendour of a gothic revival pile. Tickets for the two-day festival are €65 from www.morfestival.com

TOMORROW Temple Bar's Diversions continues tonight with something fishy going on in Meeting House Square in Dublin. A screening of Finding Nemo provides family fun and a good reason to let the little ones stay up late. 9 p.m. For the free tickets and inquiries call 01-6772255 or log on to www.templebar.ie

MONDAY Artist Kevin Sharkey increased his profile when he appeared on Celebrity Farm but his real talents are currently on display at the furniture shop Living on South William Street in Dublin. Even Charles Saatchi is a fan of his abstract and - budding collectors take note - still-affordable art. For a preview log onto www.thatgallery.com.

TUESDAY Summer schools may not be your thing but the title of at least one lecture from the Merriman Summer School catches the eye. "Is it true that the women are worse than the men?" Worse at what, you might well ask. Let Olive Braiden explain this afternoon at 3 p.m. in the Falls Hotel, Ennistymon, Co Clare. Call 067-43262 or 087-6163225 for more details.

WEDNESDAY The Terryglass Arts Festival in Co Tipperary is in full swing, and tonight there is an evening with Paul Durcan who will read from some of his work in the Village Hall. The reading is preceded by a 30-minute open-mike session with artists including Birr singer Rosey. 8 p.m. Admission €5.

THURSDAY Make the most of those end-of-summer lunchbreaks by taking yourself and your sambos down to the Amphitheatre at the Civic Offices on Wood Quay in Dublin for a bit of "Opera in the Open." Today it's Dido (no, not that one) and Aeneas by Purcell. Admission free. For more information call 01-6713639.

FRIDAY The crazy Comedy Sportz crew are mad about the Olympics and tonight two teams, Ireland and the US, line up for the "Funniest Ever" award, a once-off comedy extravaganza at their new haunt the Exchequer Bar, beside the Central Hotel on Exchequer Street in Dublin. Admission €5. More information from www.dublincomedy.com.
