SATURDAY With the Notting Hill set of Kate and Co rumoured to be attending, the "Electric Picnic" sounds almost painfully cool. The line-up in the grounds of Stradbally Hall, Co Laois, includes Groove Armada, Super Furry Animals, Jurassic 5 and Grandmaster Flash. Gates 3 p.m. Tickets €59.50 from info.pod.ie

SUNDAY Dash to Dublin's Connolly Station this weekend - and then revel in the pleasure of not having to chase a train after all. Instead, catch the last day of Were Bound, an imaginative exhibition in which 12 young artists present their responses to the old DART station. Noon-7 p.m.

MONDAY Providing he gets home from Lillies on time, Eamon Dunphy will be back on the airwaves this morning with his new show on Newstalk 106. A great radio programme or just a good radio programme? You decide. 7-9 a.m.

TUESDAY Art and nature collide to spectacular effect in Lough Boora Parklands, Co Offaly, where artist Marian O'Donnell has created a new work of art. It consists of a series of intersecting circles representing the cycles of the bog and man's interaction with it. The work will be shown until September 24th. For more information call 0506-24044.

WEDNESDAY The annual exhibition of work from artists at the Mill in Brunswick Street in Dublin is always worth a look. This year artists showing at "Blueprint" include Padraig Cunningham, Gillian Lawler, Kate Murphy and Imelda Healy. It takes place in three locations Stoneybatter Studio, Brunswick Mill Studio and the Button Factory Studio. Call 087-9134149.

THURSDAY It's not often two of the country's best-known authors get together for a chat, not in front of us anyway, so don't miss Roddy Doyle and Joe O'Connor in conversation at Vicar Street tonight. Doors 8 p.m. Tickets €10 from Ticketmaster outlets.

FRIDAY Whatever you think about him and his fluffy tickling sticks, Ken Dodd is a bit of a living showbiz legend. See if he still has it at the Grand Opera House in Belfast tonight and tomorrow night. Tickets from £5 to £25 from www.goh.co.uk or 048-9041919.
