An ode to Suddenly Diamonds and other surprisingly good budget beauty essentials

Suddenly Diamonds: don’t judge it by its dodgy name

Forget the dodgy name: Suddenly Diamonds perfume from the supermarket is my latest beauty crush. It cost me only €3.99 and I can’t keep up with the all the compliments I get while wearing it. (I tend to boastfully shout about its provenance, but nobody need ever know you got it in Lidl if you don’t want them to.) Despite the budget price, this scent lasts through the day, although at that price you can afford a few extra spritzes.

Another cheap-as-chips product that will leave you change from €3 is Aldi’s Lacura moisturiser with argan oil. It’s so light on the skin and it sinks in to leave my face feeling refreshed. I use this before applying make-up in the mornings.

The only problem with both of these products is that they are not always in stock. Snap them up when you seen them on the shelves, is my advice.

Another inexpensive essential is the Nima Mitt. When it comes to face cleaning, this is the business. It's mild enough that you don't feel you're pulling your skin but when I tone my face afterwards and wash with soap there is nothing left on there. Brilliant and only €9.95 from nimabrush.com.
