2. There’s a girly, sporty season ahead for spring 2016, no doubt about it. In Paris there were frills and flounces, pleats, lingerie lace and acres of mesh and soft fabrics worn in modern ways – a pleated insert on a jacket, tiered lace or frothy chiffons tamed with a leather bomber, iridescent pleated skirts with kinetic effects, ribbed mesh and racer back tops. See Stella McCartney, Dior, Louis Vuitton and Issey Miyake. Frill fest or empowered femininity?

4. The colour green. Particularly notable earlier in London at Jasper Conran whose whole collection was green in all its shade variations. But also green suede jackets at Dior, at Rick Owens, loose silk trenches at Celine, Sphere One’s leaf green knits, Danielle Romeril’s palm prints and Stella McCartney’s zany green and white stripes. Other colours were earthy too like putty and henna (see Valentino)
