MOMUSE MIXES IT UP

MoMuse in the Powerscourt Centre continues to attract visitors for its mix of jewellery, work from homegrown talents such as Eilis Boyle cashmere, Mucros scarves and Carveon leather accessories. Owner Margaret O Rourke’s MoMuse autumn/winter gold-filled jewellery collection consists of 9ct gold stacking rings, new baguette diamond rings and simple textured bands which are cast, made and hallmarked in Dublin. Her pendants are more quirky, featuring elephant, hedgehog, owl, pineapple and turtle on fine gold chains. In the picture In the picture model Carrie Ann wears the long double-fused gold-filled necklace (€105) and heart pendant (€90) teamed with a silk dress by Eilis Boyle. DIFFUSION ON THE WEB

Kate Gaffney the founder of the former Diffusion boutique in Clontarf, which was a northside fashion mecca for years, has resurfaced with a new online website, Diffusion by Kate. “I bought big brands for years for the boutique and have now pared it all back to a more understated contemporary collection of everyday key pieces,” she says.  It’s a casual line-up sourced from Canada, Copenhagen, Paris and Milan and items ordered are delivered within two days anywhere in Ireland. The items include stylish Canadian parkas, French quilted coats, Danish performance wear, Italian brogues and sneakers – all at affordable prices. A black trapeze coat with side zips and oversize collar and hood is €210 and though the fur parkas are probably the most expensive items, at €570, they are rain- and wind-resistant, have detachable hoods, inner drawstrings and come in three colours: khaki, army green and stone. diffusion.ie. STYLE ADVICE AT DUNDRUM

There is nothing in the Dundrum Town Centre – which houses more than 1,000 fashion brands – with which resident style advisor Laura Mullett isn’t familiar. She is passionate about her work of helping customers sort out their clothing problems. A standard two-hour consultation with her costs €65 and tends to attract those looking for advice on what to wear for a special occasion or how to do a wardrobe revamp; or those thinking about a new look when returning to work after maternity leave. One of her more high-profile assignments was styling veteran broadcaster Pat Kenny and Colette Fitzpatrick for the new TV3 current affairs show and at a recent presentation in the centre, she and Corina Gaffey lined up a series of winter outfits drawn from shops all over the centre like a velvet dress ( €395) from LK Bennett; a faux fur (€39.90) and clutch (€65), both from Accessorise. Contact customer service at 01-2991700 to book an appointment. DMcQ

STYLE SECRET

“Create a selection of looks, dressing up and down your favourite pieces to make them more versatile and adaptable to your daily life, creating a cool and impeccable finish. Take them for a trial run (in your local supermarket) to see if you feel confident with your new style and, if so, you are ready for more demanding occasions.” Carmel Imelda Walsh, stylist
