It’s that time of year when black bags look wintry and bright sunshine doesn’t sync with the wearing of dark knee highs or workmanlike boots. In the spirit of current fashion, here’s a selection of bags and shoes for the new season – from wanderlust and see through totes to cute hipster bumbags, backpacks in minty shades and elegant handbags with rope or wooden handles.
On the catwalks some of the attention seeking pieces that created the most noise included the mega sized dusty fringed Jacquemus bag, the massively priced egg bags from Louis Vuitton, the two tier items from Gucci and crafty affairs made with macramé from Loewe - but we haven’t gone there.
Make your shoes shine
As for shoes, we left out the flirty feathered numbers with practical thoughts in mind – though they look appealing, they don’t deal well with sudden showers. Kitten heels, barely there sandals or mules with raffia décor are equally carefree and summery while superblocky pumps will give you a lift and those feminine pearly slides will put a spring in your step. Plenty of choice but pedicures essential.
