A sense of adventure

Opera was what Loughcrew House was noted for – opera and Emily Naper’s classes in gilt restoration

Opera was what Loughcrew House was noted for – opera and Emily Naper’s classes in gilt restoration. But she has changed her tune, and last week opened an adventure centre on the grounds, with the longest zip-wire in the country

Open seven days a week, it offers a great day out for all ages (over 12-years-old, that is) and is ideal for schools, guides and scouts, GAA, hens and stags, and corporate groups to build confidence, balance, strength and team spirit, in the forest and lake adjoining the famous Loughcrew gardens. Activities include abseiling, wall climbing, a ropes course, archery, raft-building and more. Packages can be tailor-made to suit your needs. Loughcrew is one hour from Dublin and Tullamore and half an hour from Navan, Cavan and Mullingar. For more information, see www.loughcrew.com or call 049-8541356.
