Christmas day, whether spent in Ireland with family and friends or far away from them abroad, is one of the most emotive of the year for emigrants. We’re looking for readers to share their plans for the festive season with us.
Are you coming ‘home’ to Ireland, and if so, what are you looking forward to most? If you’re spending Christmas abroad this year, how will you celebrate, and what will you miss most about home?
Have you already sent presents or cards to loved ones, and will you speak on Christmas day? If you are living in Ireland and have family or friends abroad who won’t make it home for Christmas this year, how do you feel about it?
We’ll be publishing articles in the newspaper and on the blog over the next few weeks about Christmases at home and abroad, so send us an email at emigration@irishtimes.com, with the word CHRISTMAS in the subject line, if you think you might have an interesting tale or anecdote to share with us over the festive season.
We’re also compiling a gallery of photographs, so send your pics to the same address (preferably landscape and under 5MB). Thanks.
