Overseas or at ‘home’ in Ireland? What are you looking forward to, or what will you miss most?

Christmas, whether spent in Ireland with family and friends or far away from them abroad, is one of the most emotive times of the year for emigrants. We're looking for readers to share their plans for the festive season, and their reflections on home at this time of year, with us.

Are you coming ‘home’ to Ireland, and if so, what are you looking forward to most? If you’re spending Christmas abroad this year, how will you celebrate, and what will you miss most about home?

Have you already sent presents or cards to loved ones, and will you speak on Christmas day? If you are living in Ireland and have family or friends abroad who won’t make it home for Christmas this year, how do you feel about it?

We'll be publishing articles in the newspaper and online over the next few weeks about Christmases at home and abroad, so send us an email at abroad@irishtimes.com, with the word CHRISTMAS in the subject line, if you think you might have an interesting tale or anecdote to share with us over the festive season. The more unusual the story or location, the better.

The Generation Emigration section will also be turning festive, so if you have a piece you’d like to share, email it to the same address.

PHOTO GALLERY: You can also send your photographs for a gallery of Christmas celebrations abroad (preferably landscape and under 2MB), with a few lines about yourself and where you are in the world. Thanks.
