Aga cookers have taken pride of place in Irish kitchens for generations, and we could think of no better way to treat our readers during Food Month than to offer them the chance to win the most up-to-date version of the traditional cast-iron cooker.

With all the classic features of an Aga, the new model also has a low-energy setting, and the two hotplates that can be operated independently without powering up the ovens. The Aga comes in a range of 12 colours and is valued at €10,750, which includes consultation, installation and VAT.

The competition attracted 16,544 entries from readers, and the winner is Barry Byrne, from Blackrock, Co Dublin, pictured here (on left) with Paul Timbs of Aga. Now all he has to do is choose a colour. Congratulations Barry.
