Luke O'Neill's week on the web
They've all got it infamy: www.headrambles.com
Anonymity is cherished on the internet. That's why Grandad, the blogger behind Head Rambles, got in a
tizzy after receiving an e-mail from someone claiming to have guessed his identity through an online forum.
"The line that unsettles me most is: 'I knew your real identity because, well, you're so famous.' Even I have forgotten what my real name is. Everyone calls me Grandad. I've forgotten what my old name is. I've
even checked the label inside my underpants, but it just says 'Grandad'. And then he tells me I'm famous?"

Graham Linehan, the Father Ted creator, takes a crack at our marketing campaign. "An advert for The Irish Timesreads 'We look at life. You live it.' Wow. Thanks for explaining the difference between me and a newspaper. How about extending this line of thinking to some other products? I am a bottle of water, you drink water." He could be on to something.
Living on the breadline: www.everysecondpaycheck.com
Amid the chatter about iPhones, SSIAs and new cars comes some financial prudence. Every Second Paycheck charts one man's attempt to live on - you guessed it - every second pay cheque. "I know there are a lot of people in worse positions this month than me - hell, I was in a far worse position myself last year - but I'm still annoyed at myself for not having planned better. If only I wasn't paid monthly." We're all feeling the pinch, goodness knows, at the end of January.
All the news you need: http://thereignofterror. freeownhost.com
The marvellous but defunct Reign of Terror blog sent prank e-mail inquiries to numerous targets, including RTÉ. "Would it be possible to move the Six One news to a later slot - Six Forty Three, perhaps, as I rarely make it home from work before half-six?" An unruffled RTÉ information officer replied: "Thank you for your e-mail. I regret to inform you that RTÉ has no plans to change the timing of either the Six One or the Nine O'Clock news bulletins."
