Four recommended wines
Luigi Bosca Malbec 2001, 14.5%, €15 Autumn finds us cosying up to big warm reds, such as this blockbuster from the Argentine producer which produced the value-for-money La Linda varietals. Intense, sweet farmyard aromas on the nose with hints of coffee and spice. Meaty with a full finish though the balance could be better. Marchesi Di Barolo, Barbaresco Le Lune 2001 13.5%, €21.75 This is a lovely Barbaresco, beautifully rounded with attractive fruit and impressive balance. One for a special occasion, perhaps to break in Jamie Oliver's new book. From Dunnes Stores
Bodegas Nieto Senetiner: Don Nicanor 2002 14%, €12.99 This blend of Cabernet, Malbec and Merlot is spicy and rich with earthy flavours and a full finish. Good value. From Dunnes Stores
Il Grigio da San Felice, Chianti Classico Riserva 2001, 13%, €17.99 Another goody from Italy, this deep cherry rich Chianti riserva is full of warm soft spices and a finish to match. Gorgeous. From O'Brien's
