Bord Bia’s first Christmas food market is bringing seasonal cheer to the CHQ building at the IFSC in Dublin’s Docklands this weekend, with more than 30 food producers selling festive fare including Christmas puddings, mulled wine, baked goods, smoked salmon, relishes, preserves and cheese. The market, which is indoors and free to attend, continues until Sunday and the opening hours are 10am-8pm (until 6pm on Sunday).
Next Thursday and Friday, December 19th and 20th, you can catch a lunchtime or early evening musical performance while you stock up at Fresh, the food shop at Grand Canal Square in Dublin 2. The Dublin Gospel Choir, Sax Sisters and a male voice choir will entertain shoppers between 12.30pm and 2pm and again between 6pm and 7pm.
Midleton Farmers’ Market in Co Cork is one of the best in the country, and stall holders including Green Saffron spices, Ardsallagh cheese, Belvelly Smokehouse and Arbutus Bread will be out in force for the special Christmas market which takes place on Monday, December 23rd.
In Limerick, the Milk Market has been running for more than 150 years, and the Saturday market has 50 stalls and 21 shop units selling a wide variety of food products. Opening hours are 8am to 3pm.
