"The Volvo" race may have sailed out of the bay, but you can relive good times spent in the City of Tribes by picking up a copy of The Galway Ingredient, which highlights the wealth of great food available in the county.

It is a Euro-Toques publication, sponsored by Teagasc, edited by Gerry Galvin, with photographs by Michael O’Meara. Galvin, a founding member of Euro-Toques and former chef/patron of Drimcong House in Moycullen, and O’Meara, who is chef/patron at Oscars in Galway city, as well as being a talented food photographer, are among the 10 chefs from a variety of Galway restaurants and hotels who contributed their signature recipes. The book went from conception to completion in just seven weeks, and it’s available from Easons and Dubray Books in Galway (with nationwide stockists being negotiated), priced at just €5.
