Féile na Tuaithe is a free family festival mixing traditional and contemporary crafts and culture – the bygone with the banging latest.
It’s held in the grounds of the National Museum of Country Life at Turlough Park outside Castlebar (above), which is a treasure trove of relics and regalia related to our old pastimes, trades, calendar customs, faith and crafts. Basically our entire folk-life encapsulated in a four-storey modern building.
The festival will have craft demonstrations, beekeeping, threshing, working dog trials and workshops by artisan chefs and craftsmen. It runs on Saturday and Sunday, May 23rd and 24th. See iti.ms/1GojP67
