An interesting redevelopment opportunity will arise shortly in Lucan, Co Dublin, when a large commercial and residential building in the centre of the village is auctioned on June 3rd. Local agent McDonald Brothers is quoting £1.5 million for Carrolls butchers shop and an adjoining three-storey house, which have a combined street frontage of almost 100 feet. The owners, Tom and Ned Carroll, plan to retire from the business after 48 years. The buildings at 1 Demesne View stand on a half-acre site and, according to the agents, the zoning will allow it to be redeveloped as a hotel, motel, offices, restaurant, bar or residential use.
