Silchester Park is one of Dublin's select addresses and was namechecked in an Irish Times property story on the capital's most desirable locations to live.
One of its key selling points is the sports pitch to which every resident has a key. It is where locals run their annual summer sports day and, on a nearby green, host a highly competitive Halloween party where neighbours try to outdo one another on the gore front, says Belinda Kelly.
Kelly is selling her mother’s home, number 141 Silchester Park, in the 1950s Jennings-built development.

Her family bought the corner house in 1968. The sizeable property is 156sq m (1765sq ft) and has a north-facing back garden that is 21 metres (70 feet) long – a space big enough to grow your own veg.
She enjoyed a very free childhood spent mostly in the “back field”, the secret green space to the rear of the houses where all the neighbourhood would hang out together.
She recalls hanging out with Sinéad O’Connor “before she shaved off her hair” and seeing Johnny Fingers, aka John Peter Moylett, who played keyboards in the Boomtown Rats and lived nearby.
The five-bedroom semi has two interconnecting formal rooms – a sittingroom to the front and a diningroom that overlooks the back garden.
The family converted the garage into a playroom and a sizeable utility. The kitchen, which is to the rear, like much of the house needs modernisation.
There are two doubles and three single bedrooms. From the master bedroom, which has an ensuite shower room, there are views of Killiney Hill. Another double bedroom has views across to Howth. The house also has an attic that hasn’t yet been converted. It has a D2 BER.
The property has an AMV of €750,000 through agents Lisney. The auction takes place on Thursday, May 8th at 4pm in their Dún Laoghaire offices at 106 Lower George’s Street.
