THE Society of Chartered Surveyors (SCS) and the Irish Auctioneers Valuers Institute (IAVI), whose merger goes into effect next March, have apparently agreed that Ciara Murphy – currently director general of the SCS – will be the boss of the new organisation.
To be known as the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland, it will have around 4,000 members. The chief executive of the IAVI, Alan Cooke, has already announced his intention to retire. The SCS and the IAVI are currently working on a robust governance structure for the new body . Ms Murphy has been director general of the SCS since February 2008.
