Sales Results: Douglas Newman Good fetched €4.15m at auction yesterday for 56 Ailesbury Road, a five-bedroom modern detached house - €1.45m over the guide.
Four parties chased the property yesterday after bidding started with a strong opener of €3.3m. The 1930s-built house was declared on the market at €3.5m and took only minutes to sell. It's likely that the new owners will refurbish it from top to bottom and may even consider demolishing the redbrick to built a more impressive house on the one-third acre site.
