Navan's reputation as a somewhat dull town is perhaps undeserved, but it is definitely far from buzzing with atmosphere. Like any sizeable town close to a major city, petty crime is a growing problem which locals say is not being dealt with adequately. As yet, Navan has no third-level college, so students have to travel some distance. There are not enough creches to cope with all the double-income families moving to the town.
