Lusk: from €320,000 Apartments with a rural outlook go on sale this weekend in Co Dublin. This is the final launch at Lusk Village, a McGarrell Reilly scheme which has blended almost seamlessly with older parts of the village.
Sherry FitzGerald New Homes will take bookings on Saturday and Sunday for 24 good-sized two-bedroom apartments, in two three-storey buildings overlooking the village sports field. People downsizing from houses in the area and first-timers looking for an entry to Lusk Village are expected to feature strongly among buyers here.
Prices range from €320,000 to €325,000 for around 76sq m (830sq ft) of space. Exteriors are yellow brick, with cedar cladding and glass and steel balconies. All apartments are ready to move into as soon as paperwork is complete.
Landscaping by Ronan MacDiarmada is a major attraction in this development and apartments are fronted by flower beds already planted. Visitors will enjoy more settled parts of the scheme, where hollyhocks and lavender match painted door fronts and climbers scramble over front porches.
With just three levels, there is no lift in the foyer and a carpeted staircase accesses all floors. Architect Conroy Crowe Kelly has designed the apartments to maximise livingroom space.
Interior designer Charon Thompson has produced a soft understudied decor with good eye appeal. Floor-to-ceiling windows let in plenty of light and doors open to a decked sit-out balcony. Beech-look kitchens come with a steel extractor and splashback. Switches and sockets are chrome. Heating is natural gas.
There is a walk-in airing cupboard off the hall which will house the vacuum and sports bags. The two bedrooms will fit double beds, despite sacrificing space to the living area. Walnut-look wardrobes are included and there is an en suite shower off the main bedroom. The main bathroom includes cream and brown rectangular wall tiles and a deep window for displaying toiletries.
The annual maintenance charge has not yet been decided. Viewing is on Saturday and Sunday next from 3pm. Lusk Village is near the train station, with a 28-minute service to Connolly. Access by road is via the exit to north Swords, Skerries, Rush and Donabate off the M1, a half-hour journey from the city centre outside rush hour.
