AN Bord Pleanala has confirmed Fingal County Council's decision to refuse planning permission for a 200-bedroom hotel at the Airport Garden Centre, close to the Coachman's Inn, near Dublin Airport. The board ruled that as the site lies within the safety areas of an existing runway and within the take-off flight path of another runway, the proposed hotel would endanger the safety of aircraft and people using the building.

In west Dublin, the planners have refused outline planning permission for a three-storey, 90-bedroom hotel at the rear of Joel's Restaurant, near Newlands cross, on the Naas Road.
