Flurry of interest: one party hovering close to No 50’s €2.45m asking price

There’s nothing like the cachet of celebrity and, let’s face it, good taste to help sell a house. Just three weeks after it launched on the open market, it looks like Yvonne and Ronan Keating’s Malahide home may have found a buyer.

Although not yet sale agreed, viewings have been suspended at number 50 in the exclusive estate of Abington, where neighbours include Robbie Keane, Nicky Byrne and Georgina Ahern.

Following an initial flurry of interest, the Block understands that one party remains and is hovering close to the €2.45 million asking price.

The selling agent Sherry FitzGerald was keeping its cards close to its chest, except to say viewings were on hold “pending exclusive talks with interested parties”.

Hopes of a new celebrity neighbour to add to the roll call of A-list residents are slim, however, as it’s believed the interested buyer is an Irish businessman.

The 584sq m (6,286sq ft) six-bedroom house sits on a half-acre site and was built to a high design spec just six years ago. Yvonne Keating did all of the impressive interior design, sourcing key pieces from Paris design shows.

Following the couple’s split, Yvonne and the couple’s three children plan to stay in the Malahide area, and as of three weeks ago hadn’t set their sights on any specific property. However, it looks like things move quickly in Malahide, so watch this space.
