AN AUCTION of seaside properties in Connemara with AMVs from €100,000 is being held this month by colourful Galway auctioneer Frank Conroy.
Conroy says that now might be the time to get out the bucket and spade “because the new reality in property prices applies to scenic seaside locations as well as drab little towns”.
He is auctioning three properties in scenic locations on July 30th and says that whilst the AMVs for the cottages are low, “they are there to be sold and the reserves on the day may be lower still. A very good opportunity to get in under the An Taisce radar and get a bargain as well” says the agent, who says he has “differences of opinion with that body”.
Leic, in Lettermore is a three-bedroom cottage on half an acre of gardens with several stone outbuildings. It has access to the sea from the garden. The AMV is €140,000.
Doireann Daireach, also in Lettermore, is a six-bed dormer on half an acre in need of some refurbishment near An Trá Bhán with an AMV of €100,000.
Ballintleva, Rossaveal is an older style three-bedroom bungalow, in need of refurbishment on three-quarters of an acre near the sea with an AMV €130,000.
