ITS BACK to black for the kitchen at Forge Lodge in Enniskerry (see related story). The white quartz countertops and high gloss black units have an aluminium trim and kicker boards and handles.
There is loads of storage space thanks to deep drawers and the wall of floor-to-ceiling cupboards that house the integrated fridge, pull-out larder and oven space.
As well as glass-fronted cabinets there is also an up-and-over cupboard which also work well in confined spaces.
The kitchen was designed and fitted by Wexford-based Sweeney Furniture (053 9120933). Expect to pay €31,800 for something similar in size and finish. The black pendant lights over the island are from Stillorgan Décor (01 2885824). The Tuscan travertine floor is from Antica (01 2960136), which recently opened an outlet store in Walkinstown (01 460 0459). It costs €115.36 per sq m; Antica has something similar in smaller sized slabs from today. It costs between €60 and €70 per sq m.
Global Village (01 283 5550) has similar style barstools which come with a chrome frame and leather seats. They are available to order costing €125 each.
