A Dublin Corporation tenant in Ballymun, Robert Guillemot, could be facing a £50,000 bill for legal costs following his challenge to a planning permission granted for 57 houses in the area. Earlier this week, Mr Guillemot withdrew High Court proceedings seeking a judicial review of the decision by An Bord Pleanala to uphold the corpo's earlier grant of planning permission for the new homes. He had contended that the environment assessment completed by Ballymun Regeneration was inadequate. A group known as Friends of the Environment was also party to the proceedings, which have delayed the building work by about six months. Mr Guillemot also initiated a High Court action on a previous occasion on the issue of planning in Ballymun but the case was settled before it went to court.
