Channel cosy by stocking up on some faux fur Nordic slippers, €29.95, for wandering around the house, wrap up in a faux fur chinchilla rug, 130cm x 150cm, that will work well on both couch and bed and install an Irish sheepskin rug on bare bedroom boards, €69.95, all available at Meadows and Byrne (meadowsandbyrne.com). This is the time of year to get really well acquainted with your sofa. The Cipria sofa, 222cm x 128cm x 84cm, designed in 2009 by Fernando and Humberto Campana for Edra Furniture will turn sofa time into a deliciously tactile faux fur experience. Available to order from Minima (01-6337716, minimafurniture.co.uk) its steep price tag – €15,570 – may make you want to hibernate forever but it should inspire you to turn the seating in your home into a sensory experience. A sheepskin thrown over an armchair will add a warming layer or you could winterise your sofa by investing in made-to-measure faux fur winter slip covers that will carry your living room look through until late spring. The Escape pendant light, normally €504, by Irish designer Ray Power from for LZF Lamps (lzf-lamps.com), is made of natural wood veneer and comes in natural; American white; beech and cherry finishes as well as colours red; blue; turquoise and chocolate and is available through Kilkenny-based Willie Duggan Lighting (056 776 4308 williedugganlighting.com) who is offering Irish Times readers who present today’s column the chance to buy it less 15 per cent, €428. This walnut veneer and matte white glass design by Greystones-based Spendlove Kitchens (01 2870500 spendlovekitchens.ie) Triton House, Greystones Harbour, was created for a house in Bray and features five metres of units and an island that is about 10 cubic metres. This style costs from €15,000. The pictured design costs €22,000 including the splashbacks and quartz countertops ex appliances.
