Apartments in a Belfast scheme are being sold from plans, with prices starting at £81,000 sterling. South Studios, on Tates Avenue, is one of the largest schemes in the south Belfast area so far this year. Located in the sought-after Lisburn Road area, a mile-and-a-half from Belfast City Hall, it is convenient to Queen's University and the City Hospital. Plans will be on view at Hooke & MacDonald's office in Clarence Street, Belfast.
There will be 19 one-bedroom apartments and 49 two-bedroom units when the scheme is completed. Prices for one and two-bedroom apartments range from £81,000 sterling to £94,950 for one-bedroom units and from £99,950 up to £119,950 for good-sized two-bed apartments. Penthouses with glass-walled livingrooms and rooftop views cost from £116,950 to £169,950.
The apartments will be arranged in two redbrick blocks of two and three storeys with a landscaped courtyard. Ground-floor apartments are raised slightly, allowing for parking underneath. In the first phase there are eight one-bedroom and 17 two-bedroom units. There is a selection of apartment sizes, starting with the smallest one-bed units of 470 sq ft to 650 sq ft. Two-beds range from 740 sq ft to 800 sq ft. All two-bedroom apartments have en suite shower rooms and kitchens come fitted with a range of electrical equipment.
A typical two-bedroom apartment layout will include a 24 ft by 12 ft open-plan sitting/ diningroom with a kitchen off. Some choice apartments have bay windows, adding to the floor space. Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes. Wall tiling is also standard throughout and the apartments are heated by Phoenix Gas. One car-parking space is included in the price, while a second can be bought for £4,000.
