Businessman Ben Dunne is to develop a leisure centre off Griffith Avenue in Dublin 9 after paying £7.2 million at auction for a 4.6-acre site. He already owns a highly successful leisure complex, Westpoint, beside the Blanchardstown Town Centre and is planning a similar venture in Crumlin. The site at Glandore Road, off Griffith Avenue, was bought at a Hamilton Osborne King auction after bidding opened at £4.5 million. The property includes a former convent which was used in recent years as a training centre by Eircom.
