An bord Pleanala has refused permission for a proposed apartment and duplex development on a three-acre site at Woodview on Mount Merrion Avenue by Dublin house builder Bryan Cullen. Mr Cullen bought the site last year for £8 million (#10.16 million), one of the highest prices paid for apartment development land in south Dublin. The present application is for eight duplex units in a three-storey block, and 75 apartments in three blocks.

Refusing permission, the board said the proposed development would conflict with residential density guidelines. It added that the height, bulk, design, scale and layout are considered out of character with the pattern of adjoining residential development and would give rise to overlooking.
