Long-standing proposals for a civic and commercial development in Bray, Co Wicklow, have been revived with the lodgement of a new planning application by the Newlyn Group. Estimated to cost around £40 million, the revised application provides for the retention of most of the original proposals for a mixed civil, cultural, commercial and residential developments on the 5.4-acre site at St Cronan's and Emmet Park. Residential units at Emmet Park are to be reduced from 71 to 19; two instead of three office-blocks are now proposed while St Cronan's building, currently occupied by Bray UDC, is to be redeveloped as a 31-bedroom hotel.
